A Dose of Reality

Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah we might have let that whole blogging thing slide for a bit. Matt’s come back with a vengeance and he’s been pointing out how I really should blog again. The problem is, about what?! So, while I am still trying to come up with topics, here is a quick post inspired by Pinterest and my “sister from a different mister”, Crystal.

If you don’t know, Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board. It allows you to “pin” things from all over the internet into a more organized version of Google Image search. You can spend hours on there, our friend Dave rather accurately described it as, “Fantasy Football for women.” It also serves to show exactly how insanely non-creative I am compared to 90% of women out there. My favorite aspect of it, besides about 999,999 recipes I need to try, is the problem solving side. People come up with AMAZING ideas I would never have thought of.

I could do a whole other post (and probably will) on the couple ideas I have “stolen” from Pinterest, but this is about one certain thing. Crystal found a post about how you can keep sheet sets together by storing them in the matching pillow cases. Now this is insanely clever, no argument. I learned this trick awhile ago, I’ve since forgot where, but it is handy. Although, here is my problem; Martha Stewart originated the idea (I guess) and she says it will look like this:
What Martha says my linen closet would look like

 Mine actually looks like this:

And this is after I spent time making sure I folded them “neatly”…

My guess is that you need 10,000 thread count sheets to get it to look like that. 😉

I have to say, Martha Stewart probably took the sheet sets out of the plastic zipper bag, carefully unfolded until she found a pillow case, carefully refolded, and then put the sheets in the pillow cases. You know that no one can ever get the sheets to fold that neatly again… ever… With that said, Jess, I think your linen closet looks pretty fantastic! Very organized, sheets not toppling out, I’d have to say you get an “A”! Great job!
