2012-366 Day 61 – Resolution Update

Anyone know where February went? Anyone? I know that it’s a short month, but even with the extra day that one just flew by! It’s time for our monthly check-in on the old resolutions.

1) One blog post (long or short) every day this year. – Check.

2) Lose 20 pounds. – Kind of stalled this month, bouncing between 233 and 237. One could probably blame the fact that I started running more this month (Why? Because running makes you eat more and builds leg muscle, neither of which help lose weight). I’ve been doing better about watching what I eat recently, and, between that and increased mileage running, I have the feeling I’m going to reach the tipping point soon.

3) Run 600 miles. – Still behind on this one, but made large strides (ha!) towards getting back on track. 32 miles this month versus 8 last month is a good jump, and I’ve recently signed up for two Half-Marathons (Disneyland Half in September, L.A. Rock and Roll Half in October), which training for those will surely put me on the right path. 40/600 = 6.7%

4) Complete 5th Gup Green belt test by end of year. – Still good to go, next test is this Saturday.

5) Complete first novel. – At this rate, won’t have even started on this one. We’ll see what happens later I guess.

Things seem to be trending in a positive direction, just need to stay motivated (and find more blog topics). Thanks for hanging out with me so far!
