We get to catch up, she gets a mommy break and dinner, and I get to try new recipes. \ud83d\ude42 Everyone wins!! So last time she was over, I decided to try this recipe&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>While this recipe does come from Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman), it was actually sent to me by my boss who tried it and loved it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thepioneerwoman.com\/cooking\/2012\/12\/bowtie-chicken-alfredo\/\">Bow tie Chicken Alfredo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What you need:<\/p>\n<p>Bowtie Pasta (farfalle)<\/p>\n<p>Tablespoons Butter<\/p>\n<p>Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts<\/p>\n<p>Salt And Pepper, to taste<\/p>\n<p>2 cloves Garlic, Minced<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cups Chicken Broth (Or dry white wine)<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup Half-and-half<\/p>\n<p>3 Tablespoons Heavy Cream<\/p>\n<p>Chicken Broth, For Thinning<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cups Parmesan Shavings Or Grated Parmesan<\/p>\n<p>2 Tablespoons Fresh Parsley, Minced<\/p>\n<p>First things first, cook the pasta for one minute less than the package directs.<\/p>\n<p>While that is going on&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Salt and pepper both sides of the chicken breasts and put them in a skillet with some butter over medium-high.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0105_BURST002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1029\" alt=\"IMAG0105_BURST002\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0105_BURST002-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"491\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0105_BURST002-1024x577.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0105_BURST002-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 491px) 100vw, 491px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once golden brown on both sides and are cooked all the way thru, remove them from the skillet and let them rest while you make the sauce<\/p>\n<p>Add 2 more tablespoons of butter to the skillet, \u00c2\u00a0throw in the minced garlic and cook for about a minute. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0109-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1032\" alt=\"IMAG0109 (2)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0109-2-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"491\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0109-2-1024x577.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0109-2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 491px) 100vw, 491px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, here the Pioneer Woman says to pour in white wine, instead I used chicken broth. One, Crystal doesn&#8217;t like the taste of alcohol. Two, I didn&#8217;t have any. So add your chicken broth&#8230; then let it come to a simmer and reduce for about 2 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>At this point you would add the half-and-half, I used 1% milk. Again, it was what I had and I also wanted it to be a bit lighter. This did result in a slightly thinner sauce though. Anyways, add the milk\u00c2\u00a0, cream, salt, and pepper. Then whisk until it&#8217;s all combined.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0114_BURST002-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1033\" alt=\"IMAG0114_BURST002 (2)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0114_BURST002-2-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"491\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0114_BURST002-2-1024x577.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0114_BURST002-2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 491px) 100vw, 491px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let it simmer for a few minutes until thick. If it gets too thick, you can thin it with a little more chicken broth.<\/p>\n<p>Once thick, remove it from the heat. Add Parmesan to the pan, then throw the pasta in. Toss.<\/p>\n<p>Now, return to that well rested chicken and cut it into strips.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0112.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1031\" alt=\"IMAG0112\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0112-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"491\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0112-1024x577.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0112-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 491px) 100vw, 491px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Add the chicken and continue tossing until it&#8217;s all combined.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0115_BURST002-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1034\" alt=\"IMAG0115_BURST002 (2)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0115_BURST002-2-1024x577.jpg\" width=\"491\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0115_BURST002-2-1024x577.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.onlytwopeople.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMAG0115_BURST002-2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 491px) 100vw, 491px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Taste for salt and then top with minced parsley and Parmesan.<\/p>\n<p>This was delicious and Crystal loved it. Although, starting with butter and garlic, I had her fairly early on. It was one of those dishes that you can&#8217;t stop eating even though you are full. The sauce was much thinner than I thought it was going to be, probably because I used milk instead of half and half. It just didn&#8217;t look like the\u00c2\u00a0Alfredo\u00c2\u00a0that we&#8217;re used to, the kind that coats everything. I was worried that it wouldn&#8217;t have much flavor because the pasta didn&#8217;t look like it was coated, but it was there in every bite.
